Why Not Rehearse in the Costume
A stitched classical costume takes a beating from repeated araimandi and floor work. The pleats lose their set, the fabric marks, and the piece you spent weeks fitting looks tired on stage. Practice wear exists to absorb that.
For Students Starting Out

Rent Before You Buy
If the student is new and you are not yet sure they will stay with the form, rent the practice wear for the first term. It costs a fraction of buying and you can size up when they grow.
