At Kalolsavam the costume is marked, not just worn. Completeness and correctness matter more than cost, and the students who lose marks on costume usually lose them for something small and avoidable.
Completeness Beats Expense
A missing vanki or the wrong headpiece is visible to a judge who has watched forty items that morning. An expensive fabric is not. If you are choosing between a richer costume and a complete one, take complete every time.
Form-Correct Ornaments
Each classical form has its own ornament conventions. A Bharatanatyam headset on a Mohiniyattam costume reads immediately as wrong to anyone judging the item. When you book, tell us the exact item you are competing in, not just the form family.
Planning Multiple Items
Students who clear the school round often compete in three or four items across consecutive days. Book them together with the competition dates so we can stagger the returns — collecting and returning separately for each item wastes days you do not have.
Progression Between Rounds
Sub-district to district can be a matter of days, and the costume has to be clean and ready again. Tell us at booking that you may progress. We plan the rental period around the rounds instead of a fixed return date, which is otherwise the thing that catches families out.
